1863 (Jy 4) outer wrapper from Nassau to Edinburgh with fine light strike of red 'Nassau Paid' c.d.s. Type P4 at lower left, Pre Paid at 1s rate with '11' in red & '1' in blue rate marks at upper right to indicate division of postage between GPO London & Nassau. Black arrival c.d.s. (JY 27 63) on upper flap which opens for display, carried by SS Corsica from Nassau to New York, thence by 'China' to Liverpool. Vertical filing crease, still fine example of this 'Paid' marking which was mainly used during American civil War period, as result of shortages of adhesive stamps. (1) £80.00 £92.00

1948 Tercentenary Progressive Master Die Proof of the frame in black on wove paper mounted on card Stage 10 with the iris of the King's right eye further touched up & two curved lines below, previously broken, have been made continuous giving the eye a more open appearance.
