1915 Warsaw Citizens Local Post - an eye catching M & U + cover collection, well set out in a Senator album, issues from 23rd Sept with 5gr, 10gr values, the higher the value in depth M & U, The 'Groscy' opts, both black & red types, some forgeries noted, all the further ovpts with many varieties incl. imperfs, flaws, 'petal' opt variations, designs printed on both sides + more. The 1916 unissued Citizens Post set is there, both perf & imperf + two proofs without backgrounds, this set issued surcharged in 1918 is also included. Various cards & covers tied in with the Warsaw issues with various cachets incl. local delivery fees, bisect on cover, censor cachets. An attractive 'Cotbus' photographic P.O.W card showing German Guards with British Sailors from HMS Triumph with Warsaw local delivery stamp on reverse. 1917-18 Local Posts, Przedborz, Zarki stamps, a highly specialised M & FU collection displayed in much detail in a Senator album, Przedborz from 1917 The First Issue Mi. 1/2 with perf, imperf types, many with variations & forgeries which are all identified. This quality continues through the later issues with proofs, colour changes, perf & imperf, design flaws + much more. Zarki is a neat little section with forgeries identified, also included are the 1916 unofficial Polish Legion issue imperf/perf types with shades & 1918 stamps of Ukraine opt with Polish Eagle - all FU. 1918 A Booklet of Essays issued by the Artists Society of Warsaw. This 44 page booklet contains the designs of the 161 submitted essays, some on folding out pages printed in one colour with the thirteen chosen designs in colour. Designs for the 1919 stamps of Poland & some of the later issues were based on these essays. An extremely scarce item which would really enhance a Polish collection. 1919 issues for Southern Poland, Austrian Currency, a superb highly specialised collection of the 3h - 5k values, SG.68/79, 80/91 with M/U neatly written up in two Senator albums, there are many varieties incl. double prints, different papers, perforations, colours, gums, trials, with singles, pairs & strips, design varieties expertly illustrated. There are some un-adopted designs which appear to be reproduced to enhance the display. The second album contains an interesting array of covers & cards postally used in the area, money order forms, one bearing some issues for use in W. Galicia, posted Przemysl with Baligrad receiver, covers with provisional postage due markings, worth further investigation. 1920-21 Polish Eagle defin type 25 1m to 8m, SG.147/152, a highly specialised collection written up in a Senator album. The small eagle design has examples with many different papers, dies, printing varieties, perforations, shades, with singles, pairs, blocks with M, UM, FU, there is also an interesting section of the 1921 Surcharges, SG.53. A specialised M & U collection expertly displayed with much information in a Senator standard album, initially an inexpensive set, but here we have many perf & paper variations + design flaws. All well noted & illustrated from the seven different printings - approx 670 stamps incl. singles, pairs & blocks, some UM would make a fine addition to any Polish collection. Oflags VIIA Murnau, 11D Gross Born & 11C Woldenberg + a few items to further enhance the collection, well presented in 2 Senator standard albums, Oflag VIIA runs from 1940 with 2 official P.O.W cards sent to the camp from Warsaw.
