New Zealand 1864066 reverse 3270 Bd Sgt Josh Lewis 68th Lt Inf (impressed), NVF, Victorian LSGC 2117 Bandmaster J Lewis 40th Foot (impressed), VF & Turkish Crimea, Sardinian issue with contemporary replacement suspender, NVF. Scarce group to scarce rank. Joseph Lewis No 3270 joined 68th as a boy at 14 years of age, Bugler 1st Oct 1855, in New Zealand 01.04.1864 to Feb 1866, made Band Sgt 01.01.1868 & in 1872 he joined the 40th Rgt as Band Master, died Nov 1876. Lot includes two RAOB medals in silver gilt plus two aluminium Peace medals. £280.00 £280.00

QSA Clasps CC & OFS, KSA Clasps 1901 & 1902 Lieut W G M Sarel, IGS Edward VII Clasp NWF 1908 named as Boer War pair in correct engraved capitals. 1914-15 trio named to Major W G M Sarel, KRRC on the Star. Regimental engraved medal named to W G Sarel 5th Fusiliers 'Babworth 1903' on reverse. Operations under Lord Lummy, this has four Clasps Myrmidons Kop, Fort Domville, Sarels Fontein & Bewatesdorp, includes large amount of research.
