Engraved facsimile sheet of 32 impressions (8 x 4), the left & right halves identical. Comprising se-tenant rows of 8 of 1847 1d Post Office, 1848-59 1d Post Paid early & worn impressions & 1859 2d Sherwin in carmine on yellowish card. The four engravings in each half row are derived from a single die but then retouched to produce differences in the portrait/background engraving/corner ornaments. A prior 'proof' stage in the production of the 'Senf' typographed facsimiles were sent to readers of the 'Illustriertes Briefmarken-Journal' (see Ibbotson p 139).
