C1840-50's box containing an assortment of mainly Line Engraved issues on cover incl. 1840 Penny Black covers (17) many four margined, 1841 1d covers - we note several with numbers in M.C, Distinctive M.C. cancels, Blue 1844 Type, 1d Stars incl. Scots local cancels, 1d Plates, couple 6d Embossed covers, odd 1d Pink stationery envelopes with numbers in cross etc. Very useful lot, viewing strongly recommended. (350+) £1000.00 £4500.00

WWI 1914 OAS postcard & envelope from a Private Robinson with m/s on card 'wounded in right thigh' etc. Both with 2nd Western General Hospital Manchester cachets, charged as postage due with ½d (card) & 1d (cover) dues added. Also 1917 two covers to Lieut Robinson 2/6 South Stafford Regt. BEF France, both with large h/s 'Present Location Uncertain' & both marked m/s 'Hospital'. Scarce & interesting group, condition rather varied with tones on one & another creased. (4) £50.00 £60.00

1899 envelope from Indo European Telegraph Dept (embossed on reverse flap) to Simla, India, official mail sent free bearing hooded London PAID c.d.s. Via BRINDISI/ 9 JUN 1899 in purple & oval ‘Secretary of State for India' also in purple, back stamped Sea Post Office c.d.s. & Simla receiving c.d.s. Some toning, otherwise fine & attractive. 1846 1d pink envelope from Dursley to London showing black hand struck 1 & various instructional marks, 'Improved address' - 'not known at the second address', also shows N.R (NORTH ROW) hand stamped across the 1d pink - very unusual. 1847 1d pink envelope uprated with 1841 1d red (four margins) to Honiton, Devon cancelled by Teignmouth numerals dated Oc.7.1847, scarce combination. Circa 1902 Proof Impression of the KEVII 1d 'Letter Card' die in purple on thin paper, with a hand struck 'SPECIMEN' alongside the stamp. (1) £100.00 £170.00
