Ballon Monte - 'Le Jacquard' flimsy EL addressed to Calvados with Paris c.d.s. (23 Nov 70) & boxed 'P.P' endorsed 'Par Ballon Monte' the reverse with Caen-Paris TPO c.d.s. of 25 December. The 'Jacquard' was blown off course and crash landed in the sea near the Scilly Isles, some of the mail being recovered in stages during December. Perfectly legible despite some water-staining. One of the scarcest balloon flights out of Paris during the Siege. £1800 to 2000 N/S
