1914 envelope addressed to France bearing 1s orange (SG.157), 2s green (SG.159), 3s carmine (SG.160) & 4s scarlet (SG.161), tied by Yokohama/Japan d/stamp in violet, routed via Siberia with Savoie arrival on reverse. Very attractive four colour franking. £40 to 50 £40.00

1940 cover from Japan to England, franked 2s, 20s & 30s adhesives, obverse bears cachet in violet 'SALVED FROM THE SEA' also struck on reverse, probably from the wreck of S.S Eros after being hit by a U-Boat (UB-48) on 7th June, 15 miles off Tory Island (Ireland). £90 to 120 £92.00
