1908 New Zealand Universal Penny Postage 1d rose-carmine overprinted 'King Edward VII Land' (SG.A1) left hand marginal block of twenty four (6x4) c.t.o with six strikes of the 'BRIT ANTARCTIC EXPD' c.d.s. dated 2.30pm Mr. 4. 09 (the date that the 'Nimrod' sailed back past Cape Royds & that Shackleton officially closed the post office) in the margin is m/s 'The 1st Polar stamps ever/issued' and signed below 'E. Shackleton/Postmaster' reinforced between stamps 2 & 3, philatelic but very unusual and most attractive. £1200 to 1400 £3300.00
