KEITH, BANFFSHIRE postal history collection of Keith & the surrounding Sub Post Offices. 1765-1970's superbly presented & written up to a high standard, all in protectors housed in three large ring files. Commences with a selection of the s/line 'KEITH' hand stamp from 1765 to 1807, then the collection shows boxed mileage marks from 1809-23, then a range of the later 'KEITH' small s/line hand stamps from 1830-40 in black or red. Note - 1d black covers (3) sent from Keith to Aberdeen, later Line Engraved on cover from Keith. The collection progresses with circular & boxed date stamps, undated circles, Penny Posts, PPC's & parcel post labels, Sub Postmasters letter & parcel bills. A spin-off section covers the surrounding area of Sub Post Offices with markings from Blackilloch, Mulben, Newmill, Thornton, Grange - Keith, Crossroads - Keith, Fife - Keith, Botriphnie, Cornhill, Aultmore - Keith, Magieknockater, Orton, Glenlivat, Mortlach etc. A very well researched collection which includes some interesting & scarce items.
