1841 1d red brown Pl.57 IA, full marginal inscription example with green Irish numeral cancel, portion of adjoining stamp showing at top. Spec BS26h ex Maximus, RPS Cert (1993) £600 to 750 £500.00

1841 1d reds accumulation of covers approx. 180 bearing 1841 1d's (mixed grades) mainly 1844 type cancels, odd MC, a further selection on part covers or pieces. Nice sorter lot, incl. some better four margins, viewing recommended. 200++ £150 to 200 £250.00
1841 PENNY RED COLLECTION housed on hingeless leaves incl. 71 stamps & 21 covers, most are plated from Pl.1b through to Pl.172, mixed condition but incl. several better. Noted - set of numbers in Maltese Crosses (10 being four margined), set of black plates etc. Total of 10 covers & 161 stamps (incl. 50+ with MC's). Viewing recommended. £400 to 500 £620.00

1843 July 28th cover to Manchester franked with two 1d reds from Pl.30 HB & GH (just touched) both beautifully cancelled by the rare No. 4 in MC, presumably GH paid a late fee? Very rare use of the No 4 on a multiple franking cover (normally No. 12), dated. (Single No.4 on cover £2000) £600 to 750 £680.00

1852 1d lake-red Pl.142 QI, superb wide margined example on a lovely neat entire from London to Warwick cancelled by the Inland Office numeral '14' leaving a full clear profile, reverse with blue arrival cds, brilliant quality for this very scarce stamp on cover.
